Since opening our doors in 2015 we’ve undergone some huge changed as a business, one of the largest changes being that we now solely focus on the Pharmacy industry. Due to the high demand and ever-increasing positions we have to fill, we had to focus heavily on our own recruitment.
You’d think, being a recruitment agency we’d find this easy…..think again! Most recruitment agencies and companies across the UK struggle with their own recruitment, hence needing to use recruitment agencies to fill the requirements.
We have however fallen very lucky over the last few months, with amazing prospective recruitment consultants wanting to join us.
Last week I introduced Jodie and Louise to you all. This week I introduce Sam Staden. Sam again is joining us with no previous experience in the recruitment industry. As you’ll already know, this doesn’t matter to us. We’ve developed a step-by-step training programme to make our consultants into the best pharmacy experts in the industry. This methodology allows all of our staff to understand the role of a consultant and the pharmacy industry without the pressures of getting on the phone straight away. However we all know that the best learning curve is being on the phone to pharmacy professionals discussing our clients and roles.
Let’s meet Sam:
What made you choose recruitment?
I was looking for something where I could challenge myself with my own targets and goals as well as having some set for me. I also wanted to get some praise for putting in hard work and extra time and effort into the role. Recruitment was what I was looking for, I also know people who are already in recruitment, and they recommended me to give it a shot.
What’s your favourite quote?
“When life gives you lemons, make lemonade”
Tell me something interesting about yourself?
I used to ski for Wales and represent the UK at international events, I am ranked in the top 10 in the UK and have been for the last 10 years or so.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
I like to go to the gym to work on myself, work on cars and motorbikes and, I like to try to improve my golf game which is coming on slowly but surely but I’m no Tiger Woods yet.
If you could only have one food for the rest of your life, what would it be and why?
Pasta because it has limitless forms and you can have it with all different sauces and meats so you wouldn’t get bored.
Before working at Quad Recruitment, what was the most unusual or interesting job you’ve ever had?
I haven’t had many jobs but working as a removals man was interesting because you dealt with people of all different ages and backgrounds, from peoples first houses to footballers to people’s retirement houses. You also got to have a look round the houses as part of the job so gave me some goals of houses I’d want in the future.
If Hollywood made a movie about your life, who would you like to see cast as you?
Matthew McConaughey just because he’s the coolest bloke
What's your go to drink?
Water normally but on a night out I’d have a whisky coke or a pint
We wish you the best of luck Sam and we all cant wait to see you grow as a consultant and develop a fantastic career here at Quad Recruitment.
