Job Description

I’m looking for a jubilant Head of Care who is seeking a positive challenge or change in their career.


My well-established client are looking for a full time Head of Care to step into their vibrant service to add their style to the role!

It’s an educational setting with a beautifully modern residential lodge for some of the children to stay on either a full time or term time basis. Your Head Office will be in Brighton however the occasional trip to the coast will be on the cards as there is more than one service to Head.

There’s a wide range of children to care for, all with awesome personalities to get to know and build great relationships with. The staff team too, a very professional team of support workers who would love a great leader to step into the role.

The children are supplied first class education within a relaxed environment to allow them to develop and grow at their own pace. The school is set up with the ability to care for a wide age range of children and young people with special needs.


The role and responsibilities as the Head of Care

As the Head of Care you will be responsible and answer to the Chief Executive for all management and the care team. You will ensure that the environment is obtained to the highest standard for all learners and residents. You will of course work closely with parents and carers alike building relationships and ensuring that all conversations and meetings are transparent and professional. You will be confident and self-assured to guide a team of workers to work to the highest standard.

As the Head of Care you will attend many home visits assessing the children and young people. Personal care plans, behaviour management plans will all be set in place to ensure that the transition from home to residential is smooth for staff members, residents and children/young people.

What are you required to have to be a Head of Care?

It is essential for this role that you either have an NVQ Level 4 in Leadership and Management or to hold an NVQ Level 5 in Leadership for Health and Social Care. To be a confident person is much needed for this role, as you will be leading a team! It required that you be educated to a degree standard, HOWEVER, if you have more than 3 years’ experience within a healthcare managerial role that would potentially be overlooked!! A full UK Drivers Licence is essential as you will commute occasionally to a separate service.


What hours will you be required to work?

40 hours per week over 52 weeks per year

You have 40 days per year of annual leave including bank holidays.



£37,000 per annum dependant on experience
