The residential homes are run by a family owned business with well over 25 years’ experience within Health & Social Care who have very high standards when it comes to the care of both their charges and their staff members. A highly stimulating environment where trips and activities are booked regularly the staff members are rewarded with differentiation in environment just as much as the children. Progression and development is something that is standard when you’ll be working here, further education and qualifications are highly encouraged. Nurturing the children’s development and well-being is paramount and the philosophy of the homes are to improve the quality of life for the children first and foremost.
As a Senior Residential Childcare Worker you would be responsible for a team of up to 6 Care Workers with 2-3 on shift to manage at any given time. You’d still be highly involved with the children and ensure that the environment is the best it can be in order to truly develop the children’s skills and social development. Your senior responsibilities would include the contribution of implementing care plans, risk assessments, action plans and reviews with the Registered Manager. You’d have full autonomy over your Care Team and ensure that they develop and have regular meetings, rewards and recognition. You’d be trusted to liaise with Child Psychologists & Social Services regularly.
Qualifications and Skills
It is essential that you have the Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young Peoples Forces or equivalent qualification for the position of Senior Residential Childcare Worker. Ideally you’ll have at least 12 months’ experience as a Senior, however not to worry if you are a month short! We still have to speak to you anyway. Experience of working in a Therapeutic environment would be a must, so that you can hit the ground running and allow you to understand the environment that the lovely kids thrive in.

The salary ranges from £21,000 to £24,000 depending on experience and all of the training and qualifications are fully funded, progression is not only nurtured but fully encouraged. You would be put through your Level 5 Diploma in Management and the progression to Registered Manager in one of the many homes is very realistic.
