Quad News January 2023: Meet Charlie

Charlie Mann joined our Chester team here at Quad Recruitment at the back end of December, and he's settling in very well. Charlie joins us with no Recruitment experience but has previous experience in sales.

We've asked Charlie to fill in some all-important questions so that you can get to know him.

Why Recruitment?

Sales and communicating with customers have always been my strong points when in previous jobs. After conversations with a few of my friends in the recruitment industry, they said to try recruitment, so I started looking into it a little bit more and got more and more interested the further I looked. I like the fact that you get out what you put in, so the amount of time and effort you put into the work then the more you will get out of it.

Favourite Quote

As a big Liverpool fan, my favourite quote is “A Lovely Cushioned header for Gerrard, ya beauty”

An interesting thing about myself?

I play semi-professional football for Gresford Athletic Football club, which plays in the second tier of the Welsh league. I am currently in my second season with them and am currently playing either as a winger or a wing-back.

What do I like to do in my spare time?

I love to take the dog for nice walks with my girlfriend. We have a Hungarian Vizsla called Luna. I also really enjoy playing golf when the weather is nice. I am currently a member at Chester Golf Club with a handicap of 10.4. I do also love when I get the chance and my fixtures don’t clash to go and watch Liverpool play.

If I could have one food?

If I could have one food for the rest of my life it would probably be some variety of sushi.

Before working at Quad Recruitment, what was the most unusual or interesting job you’ve ever had?

I’ve had many different jobs part-time or full-time in recent years. None very unusual but the most interesting one for me was when I was a community ambassador at Nike in Broughton Shopping park. Here allowed me to take Nike in to the community visiting and helping out at schools to deliver better sports sessions and donate better equipment.

If Hollywood made a movie about my life, who would I like to be cast as me?

Jake Gyllenhaal, simply for the fact in my opinion he’s one of the best out there and doesn’t make a bad film, so at least it would do well on the box office.

Go to drink?

I’m an absolute sucker for a cocktail on a night out and my go-to cocktail is an espresso martini. Then a Lucozade orange the next day for obvious reasons.

Keep tuned, as we'll be introducing you to another newbie soon....
