One of most senior pharmacy recruitment consultants John Churchward has released his top tips on successfully passing an interview as a Pharmacy Professional.

John has seen hundreds of Pharmacy Professional pass their interview with his advice. He's also seen them flounder under the pressure of an interview room. When you are processed to a role with Quad Recruitment, 1:1 training sessions are taken place before an interview. We cover specific points which are only relevant to the client interviewer you're attending. Below are six of his top interview rules:

"Here's my top tips to go get your job offer:

𝐓𝐢𝐩 𝐎𝐧𝐞 - 𝐃𝐨 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡!
This might be a basic expectation but, you'd be surprised on how many candidates I have interview calls with when they haven't even checked out the company they're potentially going to work for prior to attending an interview. Winging it just doesn't cut it. Make sure to know the foundations of the business, who they are, what they're about and always check out your interviewer on LinkedIn. How do you know its the company for you if you don't know who they are?

𝐓𝐢𝐩 𝐓𝐰𝐨 - 𝐒𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 & 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞!
Yes your Resume looks great and your cover letter amazing but who are you? Showing off your personality is KEY. Yes your experience a deciding factor but whether you'll fit into the team is just as important. Be confident, enthusiastic, excited, relaxed. Surprisingly interviewers want to know about you professionally and personally.

𝐓𝐢𝐩 𝐓𝐡𝐫𝐞𝐞 - 𝐀𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞!
Again be enthusiastic and positive, you could be the best candidate in the world but if your attitude stinks then it will be a NO, guaranteed!! Positive mental attitude and can do approach and your winning!

𝐓𝐢𝐩 𝐅𝐨𝐮𝐫 - 𝐇𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐀 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧!
Yes the interviewer has seen your Resume, that's why your there right? but you're both human, have a conversation, let if flow! Don't read off your Resume, build rapport, try and find common ground. This will help you show off your personality and get them to know the real you!

𝐓𝐢𝐩 𝐅𝐢𝐯𝐞 - 𝐀𝐬𝐤 𝐐𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬!
Always always always ask questions, you're not the only one being interviewed, you're interviewing the interviewer to make sure that its the right job and the right company for you. Try and stay away from salary, sickness allowance or benefits. Ask company related question for example, what's the future plans for the company, what challenges are they experiencing, what are their pain points and even ask the interviewer questions, what's do they enjoy about their role, how did they get to where they are within their career. People love talking about themselves so ask away!

𝐓𝐢𝐩 𝐒𝐢𝐱 - 𝐒𝐡𝐨𝐰𝐜𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟!
An interviewer wants to see what you can bring to the table, what's different about you and why should they pick you above all the other candidates? This is your time to shine. Talk about your achievement not only professionally but personally and how you've achieved what you've achieved. Talk about issues you've experienced within your past employment, how you've dealt with them and the outcome. You never know looking back at the questioning stage you might be showing that you can deal with their pain points.

Dress to impress and Remember these Top Tips and you're well on your way to smashing your interview and getting that offer!!"
