How to Become a Travel Pharmacist

You will need to prove that you meet the necessary professional standards through a Fitness to Practice evaluation conducted by the relevant regulatory authority in your practicing state. The specific regulatory authority responsible for conducting the evaluations varies depending on each state's laws and regulations.

After completing the Fitness to Practice evaluation, you will have to undertake a foundation or pre-registration training year in a pharmacy setting approved by a US regulatory authority. This training will provide you practical experience under supervision while preparing you for independent practice.

To work as a pharmacist in the US, you will need to obtain a pharmacy license through an appropriate examination mandated by the state where you intend to practice. This may include the North American Pharmacist Licensure Exam (NAPLEX) and either the Multistate Pharmacy Jurisprudence Exam (MPJE), or a jurisprudence exam specific to your practicing state. Once you have passed these exams and obtained your licensure, you will be fully eligible to pursue opportunities in travel pharmacy across the country.
